How do you get your final mark for Standard Grade in Modern Languages?
Three pieces of writing produced in exam condition during the school year (S3 and S4), in school. The writing folio is marked by the SQA. The three grades are added and then divided by three. (1/6)

The reading exam. One mark, which is multiplied by two - You will have a prelim paper in Nov/Dec of S4.The final exam is in May at the end of S4. This paper is marked by the SQA.(2/6)

Half of your Standard Grade final grade (Writing and Speaking) is therefore worked on during your time in school. Reading and Listening papers are assessements of your general knowledge in French based on the topics studied in class throughout S3 and S4.
